Stahl Construction Selected to Build Johnston High School

Minneapolis, MN – The Johnston Community School District Board of Education recently awarded Stahl Construction the contract for the construction of the new Johnston High School in Johnston, Iowa. Construction of this 369,000-square-foot high school will commence in September 2014 and continue over the next 32 months.

Scheduled for completion in April of 2017, the new Johnston High School will become the largest high school in the state of Iowa and the largest project in the 33-year history of Stahl Construction. “We are thrilled to be working on the Johnston High School project with the Johnston Community School District, frk architects + engineers, and Perkins and Will,” said Jessie Houlihan Bingen, Stahl Construction’s President. “The education sector is a major focus for Stahl Construction and we are confident that we will deliver an exceptional facility for the community.”

Stahl Construction has been selected as the general contractor on the new high school construction project. They will break ground after the Labor Day holiday.

The completed high school will serve grades 10-12 and have a capacity of 1,800 students. Stahl Construction will work alongside the district’s architecture firms, frk architects + engineers and Perkins and Will, to complete this project.

A ceremonial groundbreaking is scheduled for September 8that the project site.
