JHS to JMS Renovation Project

The current Johnston High School (6501 NW 62nd Ave), was built in 1974 and has been added on to many times to accommodate student population growth. The infrastructure of the current high school is sound, and for that reason, it will continue to be used for many years to come.

Over the summer of 2017, the current high school will undergo minor aesthetic, HVAC, and mechanical upgrades to re-open as the new Johnston Middle School (grades 8-9) for the 2017-18-school year.

Over the course of the 2017-18 school year, the JMS staff will evaluate the teaching and learning spaces to see what may best fit the needs of the students. Staff will provide recommendations for room and environment renovations to take place during the summer of 2018.
