The  Johnston High School Vocal Parents Association (VPA) is conducting a recycling service project and fundraiser. This fundraiser is the only Responsible Recycling (R2), ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 environmentally-accredited cell phone recycling fundraiser in the United States. It is run by a company called “EcoPhones.” EcoPhones guarantees that the cell phones you donate will have all of their data erased and be safely and responsibly recycled.   We are not only limited to cell phones, we will be collecting all of the following items, too: laptop computers, MP-3s (iPods), tablets (iPads), and digital cameras. Your used item(s) may be tax deductible and will be recycled in accordance with EPA regulations. One hundred percent of the proceeds from harvested metals will go to the Vocal Music Department and will be used to help fund the choirs’ trip to New York, show choir costumes and other department expenses. We will begin collecting any of these items after Christmas. Email JHSVPA.president@gmail.com to find out where to drop off your donated items.
