S.A.S. student information form
Early Dismissal Permission Form

What is S.A.S.?
Summit After School (S.A.S.) is the middle schools after school program for 6th and 7th grade students.  S.A.S is a program offered to students who need a place to hang out while waiting for parent pick-up, after school practices and games.  The Summit After School program does not require dates that your child is going to attend, instead we work as a drop in program, so just show up!

What do we do on a normal S.A.S. afternoon?
When students arrive at S.A.S. they will be given snack and a juice box.  After students have checked in, they can participate in the planned activity or choose to watch.  Some students may be required to do homework (by parents or teachers), and will do so in a separate environment.  Those who have no homework will be able to enjoy other activities such as board games, computers, Wii, Nintendo 64, darts, group activities, crafts, movies & popcorn on Fridays.   S.A.S. also provides FREE days where students are allowed to bring their own appropriate games or Ipods to S.A.S. (All movies are G or PG).

*On early dismissal days we many times go on trips/outings.  Please send a signed permission form with your child the first time they attend an Early Out.  This form has the ability to be downloaded and printed. Please submit this form to the Teen Coordinator the day before an activity.  Information regarding these can be found on this website, The Connection or by calling S.A.S.

If your child is new and is wanting to attend Early Out please send a student information sheet with them.

Where is S.A.S.?
S.A.S. is now located in the cafeteria at Summit Middle School.  Parents may pull into the parking lot on the south side of the school and enter through the south doors to pick up their child.

What does it cost?

Punch cards can be purchased from the Teen Coordinator.  Multiple cards can be purchased at once. There are 2 cards available:
10 punches - $50
5 punches - $25

When your child comes at 2:45 p.m., their card will be punched once.  If they stay past 4:30 it will be punched again.  S.A.S. will punch your card another time if you have not arrived by 6:00 p.m.. There will be a late fee for of $12 from 6:00-6:10, and $1 for every minute after until your child is picked up.  After 3 days of late pick ups your child will have 2 punches taken for every 15 minutes.  Habitually late pick-ups will result in your child not being allowed to attend the program.

Punch Card Reminders
*THERE ARE NO REFUNDS ON PUNCHCARDS
*Cards will be stored at S.A.S.
*Cards are the responsibility of the student. Community Education will NOT reimburse for lost/stolen cards.
*Your child can share his/her cards, but misuse of this is NOT

*ONE courtesy punch will be honored for forgotten cards.  If this
becomes a regular problem, your child will not be allowed to attend S.A.S..
