Meal payments back to top
A computerized meal accounting system is used to manage student meal accounts. Meal money is pre-paid and credited into individual meal accounts. Purchases are automatically recorded and deducted from the meal account balance. All students are assigned a personal keypad number to access their meal account. Cash or check payments are accepted at your child’s school, the district nutrition office at 5608 Merle Hay Road, or debit/credit card payments online at PayPAMS. Please, keep in mind that you will need your child's birthdate to register on the PayPAMS Web site.
How to use PayPAMS
For questions, please contact the district's nutrition office at 278-0278.

About school meals at JCSD back to top
School meals are planned to include the appropriate servings of meat/meat alternate, breads/grains, fruits/vegetables, & milk. Menus must follow guidelines set by the federal government and must meet nutritional goals when averaged over a school week. Meals are set-up as offer vs. served which means the student must select at least 3 and no more than 5 of the meal components offered. (Side orders of any components may be purchased “a la Carte” for an additional charge.)
Federal meal program nutrition goals back to top
Nutrients: Provide 1/3 RDA for lunch, 1/4 RDA for breakfast (Using the nutrient standards set for calories, calcium, iron, protein, Vitamin A, Vitamin C)
Fat: No more than 30% of total calories from fat and less 10% of total calories from saturated fat.
Calories: Age appropriate for specific age groups.
Special menus/substitutions back to top
Substitutions for specific foods are allowed only when supported by a statement from a recognized medical authority. If a student needs a substitution for any item, such as in the case of a food allergy, they must have a medical note from the Doctor. This medical note must be updated annually and submitted to the Director of Nutrition Services and the school nurse.
