Green Days T-Shirt Contest
Feb. 19, 2015
Each year the Johnston Chamber of Commerce holds a contest to design a t-shirt for Johnston Green Days. This year's theme is "Celebrate Johnston." Students are encouraged to create a design that connects this theme with the Green Days celebration.

Designs must be completed on 8.5" X 11" paper using no more than 3 colors and turned in to Mr. Schwanebeck by March 10.

One honorable mention at each building will receive a $20 gift card. One winner will receive a $50 gift card and their design will appear on the 2015 Green Days T-shirt. More information is available on the promotional poster.


Spring Picture Day
Feb. 19, 2015
Lifetouch Photography will be taking spring pictures on Thursday, February 26. These pictures are a great way to see how much your child has grown this school year.


Parent/Teacher Conferences

Spring Conferences are approaching. Teachers will be available to talk about your child's progress this year. Please check your scheduled time and mark your calendar.

Spring Break is just around the corner. Staff and students have been working hard this year and will enjoy a much needed break from Friday, March 13 - 22. School will resume Monday, March 23.


2nd & 3rd Grade Concert

Students in 2nd and 3rd Grade will present their annual vocal concert Thursday, February 26 in the Horizon Cafetorium. Students are encouraged to come dressed as a chef or favorite food. Please enter through the KTC doors and note the concert times below.

Our theme this year at Horizon is Create, Think, Grow. Teachers have been sharing ways we improve ourselves even as adults. One of our strongest teaching strategies is sharing our thinking out loud. This helps students learn how to learn. Have you considered sharing ways that you Create, Think, Grow?
