Transporation - Bus/Walk Zone Information
Starting Thursday, July 14, families can log into their Infinite Campus parent portal to view 2016-17 transportation information. Once in Infinite Campus, look along the left-hand side of the screen and a tab under your child’s photo will read “JCSD Transportation.” Click on that tab.
You will see the driving distance from your home to your child’s assigned school, as measured by our VersaTrans routing software. This is the official distance measurement for bus/walk eligibility.
Families will also see one of four transportation options:
- Bus – Your child(ren) lives outside the 1-mile walk zone and will automatically be registered to ride the bus to school. Bus route information will be available in early August. Parents will receive an email and other notifications when routing info is ready.
- No Bus – Your household falls within the 1-mile walk zone and no transportation is provided. We have a paid ridership application program in place on a space-available basis. Click here to learn more and apply. *Paid ridership application does not guarantee a spot on the bus.
- Bus Due to Hazard – While your household may fall within the 1-mile walk zone of your school, there are identified hazards which may prevent your child(ren) from getting to school safely. Therefore, you will be provided transportation for the 2016-17 school year. Routing information is forthcoming near early August.
- Other – Special Circumstances – At this point, the district is still collecting information on these students, which may be due to a new enrollment, address changes, etc. We are diligently monitoring this group of students and updating their bus eligibility on a daily basis. If you fall into this category, please check your status via Infinite Campus daily for changes.
